Over the past few years, Marks and Spencer's tone of voice and visual language has been appealing and seductive.

To expand on this, M&S could create a sub-brand: S&M. This would sell the product ranges aimed towards a more adult market, such as lingerie.

The Hot Kiss Buns would be one of the products sold under this sub-brand. By altering the angle of the 'cross', they can be interpreted in two ways. The first keeps the traditional family market, who would view the crosses as innocent kisses. The second involves seeing the 'xxx' as a method of branding adult material, which would appeal to the younger professionals, adding cheeky humour to the M&S brand.
